JOURNEY TO MONGOLIA & THE GOBI DESERT
Mongolia was ruled by the Soviet Union for many years. Old Soviet cars still roam the streets of the capital city, Ulaan Baatur. The local people speak the Russian language along with Mongolian, which had been banned by the soviets. Genghis Khan was Mongolian and he almost conquered Europe. He is veneered by the Mongolian people as a hero. The vast Gobi desert of Mongolia has herds of wild camels and horses roaming about and wild eagles embellish the blue turquoise Mongolian sky. There are many Natural Reserves & Parks and we will visit some and even take a journey through the Gobi desert, sleeping in yurts and enjoying the Mongolian cuisine.
